USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CVN-69 was the second ship of the Nimitz Class. The Ike has been recently refitted at the yard at Norfolk Virginia. Charles Landrum went to the base to take a look at the new Ike and took his camera. These photographs were taken by Charles on March 12, 2005. He walked around the ship taking photos until security took an interest in him, at which time, he smartly punched out to his preplanned route of egress. The Ike looks so fresh and clean you can almost smell the new paint drying.
