This 1/48th scale masterpiece resides in the San Francisco Maritime Museum. Built by a
craftsman in the shops of Mare Island Navy Yard, it was completed in 1924. The builder
spent 4,700 hours on the project, which depicts USS
California BB-44 in its as-built configuration. Check out the many
beautiful details. Better yet, drop everything and scratch build a set of 1/48th scale
cagemasts.
