| Paul Eisenbergs 1:200 Italian battleship Conte
di Cavour shows her in a late 1930s fit. Built 20 years earlier, the Conte
di Cavour underwent a radical rebuild during the 1930s and emerged as depicted in Paul
Eisenberg's model. As with his Nagato (click here
for a closer look), Paul builds with whatever materials are handy. He uses neither etched
brass nor resin castings. Every turret and gun is individually constructed from the
materials at hand. This model is Paul's first major work of "reasonable
quality". He was inspired to build the Cavour by P.C. Coker's book, Building Warship Models Click the thumbnail to view full size picture
