Most modelers will add deck railing but one over-looked area for railing is hand and foot railing. Most ships were fitted with hand and foot railing and it was especially prevalent on the warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy and Deutsch Kriegsmarine. Flyhawk Model produces a photo-etch fret of generic hand or foot rails in 1:700 scale. Flyhawk set FH 700096 contains twelve runs of straight railing and thirty-four curved rails for funnels. Although the set label mentions that it is for WWII ships, it can be used for any period.
