Here are photos of USS Olympia from the fairly awful Glencoe kit. In order to complete it I:

• Replaced all the plastic decks with planked wood;
• Replaced the plastic gun barrels for the 13" and 8" guns with brass tubing;
• Used the photo-etch set from Tom's Modelworks to replace all the railings, ladders, gangways, splinter shileds and many other parts;
• Added Z scale crew figures;

Made my own flags.
