The
HMCS Athabaskan,
which is a Tribal Class destroyer, was one of the Royal Canadian Naval ships to
visit
New York City
for Fleet Week 2009. These photos were taken at the Stapleton Naval
Piers, which are on
Staten Island
in NYC. The ship was not open for tours the day I was there, so I took
the photos from pier-side and from the HMCS
Fredricton which was moored
outboard of the Athabaskan.
She is quite an impressive ship and I hope these photos will be helpful
for anyone who will build the forthcoming Resin Shipyard kit of the HMCS
Iroquois, which is a sister ship.
