This is my build of the Airfix/Heller kit of the DKM Scharnhorst, in 1/400th scale. I did the vessel as she appeared in December 1940, shortly before going on her raiding sortie in the North Atlantic, "Operation Berlin". Much work was done to enhance the kit and I used White Ensign Model`s excellent photo-etch set. I enjoyed building this kit a great deal but it was a real challenge.
