This is the Iron Shipwright 1:350 scale kit of the armored steam ram USS Kathadin. I picked it up several years ago from Ted Paris at a Noreastcon, thinking it would be a nice weekend kit. It took me four months instead. The funnel and hull were reshaped to replicate the prototype. Among the scratch-built items are: Navigation and Speed lights, searchlight platform, boat-rack/davit training mechanisms, binnacle, engine telegraph, patent stockless anchors, upper mushroom vents, and both left/right-hand propellers. Rigging was done with copper wire from a scavenged computer ribbon. Photographs are by Matt Grzybinski.
