The "Old Hoodoo" as the USS. Texas was called was the first battleship built for the United States Navy. It was not even assigned the first battleship number, as it was older than the numbering system. Built from a British design, the Texas was no charmer for looks. However, she was there at Santiago di Cuba to engage the Spanish Cruiser Squadron and did more than many finer and prettier ships. The USS Texas is available in 1:350 Scale from Commanders/Iron Shipwright. This copy of the ISW USS Texas was built by Lamar Jones.
