The Yashima was, with sistership Fuji, the first modern battleships of the Imperial Japanese Navy. British built and completed in 1897, the Yashima had less than seven years in service before being lost. On May 15, 1904 she was one of the two Japanese battleships that were lost to a Russian mine field. Giampiero Galeotti of Regia Marina built the Modelkrak Yashima in 1:700 scale.
