The USS Oakland CL-95 was the first of four AA cruisers modified from the original Atlanta Class design. The main difference of the Oakland from the Atlanta was that the Oakland design omitted the wing 5-inch/38 turrets found in the Atlanta Class. The Oakland, commissioned in July 1943, served primarily as an AA escort for the fast carriers of the USN. Pete Ratto scratch-built the USS Oakland in 1:96 scale.
