The battleships of the Italian Navy are almost always modeled in their World War Two appearances. The Italian Navy kept the battleship Andrea Doria in the fleet after the war. Giampiero Galeotti decided to build his own Regia Marina 1:700 scale Andrea Doria as she appeared in 1949.
