(Sunday October 6, 2002, The History Channel (US) ran a program on the loss of the Scharnhorst. The wreck was discovered and explored by the Norwegian Navy. She apparently suffered a catastrophic magazine explosion at some time during the sinking, as the forward portion of the hull, forward of the bridge, was missing from the wreck.)
