For years the old Jim Shirley USS Oriskany kit has been pulling down huge prices on popular auction sites. If you have one of these in your stash waiting for the price to climb some more, you may have missed the mark. The going price for that old Oriskany kit should drop considerably, as a financial stock in the current Wall Street environment, as Ships & Company are preparing to release their own 1:700 scale SCB-125 angled deck Essex, the USS Intrepid. Here are some photographs of the initial casting with some parts dry-fitted to give an idea of appearance. At this time the kit should be available to all of the Essex Aficionados in December 2008.
