September 28, 2008 Nachi 1942, Japanese Heavy Cruiser, Hasegawa 1:700 Scale, Built by Andrew Johnson - This is the  Hasegawa 1/700 scale IJN Nachi built by Andrew Johnson with extra details from Gold Medal Models photo-etch IJN cruiser set and White Ensign Models IJN weapons set. September 25, 2008 HMS Hood 1938, Trumpeter 1:350 Scale, Built by Phil Reeder - These are a few photos of Phil Reeder's kit-bash of the Trumpeter 1/350th scale Hood. Phil decided to convert the the kit to depict her as she appeared in 1938. This required at least 60 modifications to the 1941 version. Added to the Battleship Gallery

September 15, 2008 USS Huntington CL-107 1948, Fargo Class Light Cruiser, Niko Model 1:700 Scale - Niko Model has produced an excellent 1:700 scale model of USS Huntington in her 1948 fit. One of only two ships in the "improved" Cleveland design, as the Fargo class was called. The Huntington, along with the Fargo, had very short careers. However, as a design, their single stack and reduced superstructure, made them rather beautiful, balanced cruisers. Added to the Cruiser Reviews Section.

September 9, 2008 IJN Early 1930s Carrier Aircraft Set, Hasegawa 1:700 Scale -This set provides nine Nakajima Type 90 fighters and nine Mitsubishi Type 13 Model 2 attack bombers. You can do it in early or late fit. An excellent kit for the builder who wants to try his hand at resin, and enough extra ‘goodies’ so that more experienced types can show off a bit. September 2, 2008 HMS Corunna, Battle Class Destroyer, Frog 1:325 Scale, Built by Phil Reeder - The very first plastic kit of a British warship was produced in 1958 by a company called FROG. It was of a Battle class destroyer and it was in 1/325th scale. After ordeals greater than those of Ulysses, this golden oldie is brought to you by Phil Reeder. Added to the Destroyer Gallery


September 1, 2008 HMS Queen Elizabeth 1918, White Ensign Models 1:700 Scale, Built by Katseas Kostas - The White Ensign Models HMS Queen Elizabeth 1918 Fit in 1:700 scale is a very nice kit, Katseas Kostas only had to replace the main and secondary armament with brass barrels ,other than that built straight out of the box. August 29, 2008 Curtiss F9C-2 Sparrowhawk, Dirigible Parasite Fighter - One of the oddball aircraft found at the National Museum of Naval Aviation at Pensacola NAS is the Curtiss F9C-2 Sparrowhawk. Only eight of these miniature fighters were built. Designed to be small in size and light weight, the aircraft would be assigned four each to the dirigibles USS Macon and USS Akron. August 28, 2008 USS Akron, Parasite Fighter Dirigible - Built under license from the German Zeppelin Company, the Akron took her maiden flight September 2, 1931 but she had less than two years of life. Although immune to fire, the USN zeppelins were still very vulnerable to the great structural forces exerted by storms. This large scale model is an exhibit at the National Museum of Naval Aviation at Pensacola NAS. Added to the Naval Aviation Section of Warship Photo Tours.

August 25, 2008 USS Johnston DD-557, Iron Shipwright 1:192 Scale, Built by Dave Judy - This is the Iron Shipwright 1/192 scale Fletcher done as USS Johnston DD 557 by newly minted tarheel, Dave Judy. In a mere six weeks Dave managed to nail this one together but not with a nail gun. Added to the Destroyer Gallery


August 24, 2008 USS Nashville CL-43 October 1944, Corsair Armada/Honolulu Naval Works 1:700 Scale, Built by Christoph Mentzel - These are some photographs of the USS Nashville CL43, as the cruiser appeared in the Pacific in October 1944 at Leyte Gulf. Christoph Mentzel's idea was to show the ship in a scene as General McArthur comes aboard the ship, transferred by a PT boat. Added to the Cruiser Gallery


August 5, 2008 JMSDF Training Squadron, Amsterdam, Netherlands, July 28, 2008 - The Japanese Training Squadron consists of three warships, the 4,050-ton Kashima, 3,550-ton Umigiri and 3,500-ton Asagiri, all powered by gas-turbine engines. An Around-the-World cruise will last from April 15, 2008 to September 18, 2008 and will circumnavigate the planet from west to east. The "Flying Dutchman" Harry van Baal caught up the squadron in Amsterdam on July 20, 2008. Added to Warship Tours Section.

July 21, 2008 Scharnhorst 1940, Heller/Airfix 1:400 Scale, Built by Phil Reeder - This is a build of the Airfix/Heller kit of the DKM Scharnhorst, in 1/400th scale by Phil Reeder.
