This is the 1/700 USS Hugh Purvis DD-709, circa mid-1950s. I did this model for a friend of mine. This was his first ship when he joined the U.S. Navy. This is from the Pit-Road/Skywave USS Allen Sumner I have had in my closet for some time. I had to purchase a USS Maddox for the bridge structure, as the Sumner WW2 bridge was totally incorrect. Add a Skywave Fletcher mast and various other Skywave and scratch-built platforms and parts added to update the kit to the mid-1950s fit. I used a combination of Tom's Modelworks destroyer set and GMM photo-etch from my "spare box" as well.
