This is the Imperial Japanese Navy heavy cruiser Takao. She is depicted launching a first reconnaissance for operation SHO GO, destined for the San Bernardino Strait. USS Darter ended IJN Takao's participation and operation SHO GO became known as the Battle of Leyte Gulf. This is the 1:700 scale Skywave kit, with Gold Medal Models IJN Cruiser brass, White Ensign Models 25 mm brass, Pit Road crew brass and other bits. Paint is WEM Colourcoats.
