This is a conversion (warts 'n' all) of the USS George Washington from the Trumpeter 1:350 scale Nimitz. All the additional sponsons etc were scratch-built from plastic/brass using pictures as a rough guide. Photo-etch was used from Gold Medal Models and White Ensign Models as well as GMM decals for the ship herself and also the Lo-Viz East coast airwing decals, which have many similarities to the CVW-17 onboard the GW during 2002. I still need to add the various antenna around the deck but I will rebuild these using brass rods when time allows. Of course I have a list of additions and improvements as long as my arm but I will put this build 'to bed' and move onto the next!!
