This model is a U.S. Navy LCM (3) landing craft of WWII. The kit was a Trumpeter injection-molded kit of 1:35 scale. This is a large completed model and at times was cumbersome to build simply due too the size. Most of the parts fit well but there were some small fit problems with the interior hull but plastic putty fixed those. The .50 caliber machine guns had amazing detail as did the photo-etched parts. The model was modeled in light gray and I completed the model by spraying with Krylon Matt Finish. After my research on the LCM I determined that the life rings were not in the location shown on the instructions for this model and that in most instances there were only two not four as shown so I did not use the life rings as supplied with the kit. I would recommend this kit, it is not only fun to build but would be great for a beginner or someone getting back into modeling after an absence.
