As part of the displays for the 2005 IPMS National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, IPMS had a display on the new products designed to back-date the Trumpeter 1:350 scale USS Lexington CV2 to a prewar fit. The Trumpeter kit represents the ship at the Battle of Coral Sea in May 1942 after significant alterations early in 1942. With these products the Lady Lex can be portrayed in her prewar appearance with a mahogany deck filled with yellow wings. The products included the Gold Medal Models brass photo-etch set, which can be used out of the box or back dated, Commanders/Iron Shipwright aircraft set comprised of Brewster Buffalo fighters, Vindicator bombers and Curtis Helldiver biplanes, Nautilus Models laser cut wooden deck and the Yankee Modelworks Lexington Back Date resin set with 8-inch gun turrets, bridge work and other structural changes.
